Welcome to Tell-All Tuesday, where we learn more about the members of CDIP ! This week we meet Heidi Weber, Owner of ASCE Celebrity Events and Vice Chair, of Cheer and Dance Industry Professionals.

1. What was your inspiration for creating Celebrity Cheer and Dance Championships?  

Celebrity Championships was created so each participant and coach could feel like they were celebrated and rewarded for the hard work they had put in prior to competition. We wanted our customers to know that the hours of practice and dedication made them celebrities in our  book. That the competition was apart of their process and success but that they were all VIP’s who deserved to walk the red carpet and be spotlighted regardless of the competition day’s result.

2. How does your business help provide solutions for the Cheer & Dance Industry?

In a time where costs are rising and our industry is evolving Celebrity makes sure to offer affordable entry fees for athletes and spectators. Our events are reasonably priced, gifts and awards are given generously, and we offer rebates on multiple event attendance. Celebrity also offers credits to the Open Championship Series so additional choice and savings are available for any teams that attend our events.

3. What is your past experience in Cheer/Dance before creating Celebrity?

I entered into the cheerleading world like most as a sideline cheerleader in high school. After cheering myself I coached and did choreography for 17 years. I coached everything from Jr High, High School, Allstar to eventually College before hanging up my coaching hat. I started ASCE our apparel line in my garage in 2007 due to my current teams needs for affordable apparel that was still trendy and made them feel great. Celebrity was birthed later from our ASCe customers needs for more competition choices.

4. What made you want to join the CDIP and become a board member?

As Celebrity grew I knew it was important to connect to other event producers and industry leaders to ensure that we were working towards an even better version of our future industry. I felt passion for the evolution of the sport that I love. Becoming a board member of the CDIP was about my desire to ensure that we as an organization continued to offer opportunities for more and more industry leaders to be able to be connected and empowered to grow and collaborate with one another. It’s been an amazing experience seeing companies work together to welcome a new era of cheerleading and dance!
