Welcome to Tell-All Tuesday, where we learn more about the members of CDIP ! This week we meet Carmine Silano of Cheersounds!

1 ) What was your inspiration for creating CheerSounds?

My inspiration for creating CheerSounds was the idea that cheer music could be original and unique to the cheerleading industry; it did not have to be radio songs.  I drew inspiration from Cirque du Soleil, and even from the WWF/WWE (wrestling) who has been creating music for their own industry for decades.

2) How does your business help provide solutions for the Cheer & Dance Industry?

CheerSounds (and DanceSounds) helps provide music solutions for the Cheer & Dance industry by developing products that have the customer’s expectations in mind, and meet the industry’s requirements.  In the past 9 years, we have become the largest producer of cheerleading music in the world with over 50,000 teams serviced.

Our customer-driven products are tiered by budget, convenience and level of customization. The largest value we have provided to the cheer & dance industry is the ability for a coach to create their own mix with 8CountMixer, a simple mix-making site. This combines a high level of customization with a reduced budget and an instant turnaround time.

3) What is your past experience in Cheer/Dance before creating CheerSounds?

I cheered at Northeastern University from 2005-2007, and co-coached a Sr3 team at North Shore Cheer Xplosion in Wakefield, MA.

4) What made you want to join the CDIP?

I am proud to be part of any organization that is focused on the growth of an industry, particularly through value-based offerings. The CDIP’s core values align with our team’s values; it is a natural fit.
