Cheer and Dance Industry Professionals, A Trade Organization, Announces Additional Leadership

ORLANDO, FL (October 21, 2020) — Cheer and Dance Industry Professionals (CDIP), a trade organization, announces board membership additions and reelections for 2020-2021 season.

The CDIP believes that judges are critical to the success of the cheer and dance industry, so a new association has been added to provide networking for judges as well as educational resources and professional opportunities. With the addition of this association, the CDIP has added a Judges Association Board member and elected Joyce Whitaker to serve for a 2 year seat. Whitaker is a highly respected HR consultant, entrepreneur, trainer and accredited judge. Her leadership will oversee the formation of specific committees that will shape the judges membership within the organization and best support its members.

Elizabeth Scumaci, founder and President of GlitterStarz, also joins the board as the member elected Industry Vendors Representative. As a trade organization, the CDIP welcomes all venders and services providers whose customer base is within the sport of scholastic or competitive cheer and dance. One of the main initiatives behind vendor memberships is to leverage cross marketing opportunities and brand collaborations between companies who offer various products and services that enhance the overall athlete experience. As the Industry Vendors Representative on the board, Scumaci will be the voice for suggesting new networking opportunities for vendors and service providers. Vendors will come together to discuss athlete outreach and how brands can better work together to spread a consistent and positive message to athletes leading to increased participation and parent involvement.

The board held the annual reelection for CDIP Chairman and reelected David Hanberry to serve for the 2020-2021 season. Hanbery has served as a coach, gym owner, apparel and equipment manufacturer, is currently President and CEO of event company Deep South Spirit where he has been hosting events and competitions for the last 20 years. He is considered one of the most published professionals in the spirit industry, and is known for conducting routine surveying of various market segments within the sport.
