PRESS RELEASE: IEP NEW BYLAWS AND NAME CHANGE

August 14, 2019:

The 2019 Annual Meeting of the Independent Event Producers was a huge success. We are excited to announce many positive transitions that our membership determined would better meet the needs of current and potential members. The membership of the organization voted to adopt a new set of bylaws and change the public name of the organization to Cheer and Dance Industry Professionals (CDIP). The organization remains a nonprofit spirit industry trade association now providing membership opportunities for Event Producers, Industry Providers, Coaches and Gym Owners, and Industry Professionals.

The mission to collectively influence the cheerleading and dance industry, and work to ensure the long term viability of our members in the industry, remains the same and will be better served by transitioning into a true industry wide trade organization. In addition to this, the membership chose to adopt a Code of Ethics for our members in order to ensure integrity, honesty, fairness, and transparency in the way we conduct business within the organization and as individual industry leaders.

Our Event Producers also chose to adopt a set of rules and regulations that will be in place at all Cheer and Dance Industry Professionals events in order to provide safe and consistent experience for the athlete, spectator, and coach regardless of division or discipline offered.

The Board of directors including David Hanbery (Chairman), Heidi Weber (Vice Chairman), Liz Rossetti (Secretary and Treasurer), David Owens, and David Simms welcomed new Board Members Lisa Jablonski (Treasurer), BJ Lindenberger (Coach and Gym Owner), Susan Tucker (Goods and Services). With over 30 companies represented and growing everyday, the Board is excited to be working with many great Member led committees to provide the industry and athletes with more great opportunities and resources in the future.
